After the excitement of crossing the mountains on the East side of Galicia, this next stage was gentle farmland. There are now many more pilgrims on the way.

Steady stream of pilgrims

They do have some wild pigs in these forests. Of course they are pretty shy so the best photo I could get was this one. Shame you can’t see the cute stone duck in front of it….

The place below was probably the nicest stop on the whole Camino in terms of just welcome. It’s a small albergue in a tiny village but it was run by a Christian group called Agape and one arrives to the sound of glorious Galician folk music. You get welcomed with free refreshments, the cleanest bathrooms in Spain and quite possibly Europe, and just a whole lot of love. It felt like such a sanctuary I’ve named it Lothlorien.

The grey plaque on the wall. Don’t need to be much of a Spanish speaker to recognise John 14:6.

After that it's a nice relaxed walk to Papas de Rei where laundry, a meal and drinks awaited.
