This was one of those days where you have to keep checking the tightness of your boots. It was basically one long downhill stretch and experience tells me that a slightly loose foot inside a boot will mean a blister, a blackened toenail or a missing toenail by the end of day.

More wonderful scenery - the Galician mountains seem to roll into the distance.

Unfortunately the AVE line was here too, ripping its way through the mountains in the name of progress.

That's night's destination was a neat town called Laza. Accommodation was in a two star hotel on the outskirts that looked suspiciously like an office block but was actually - once one got in, that was a slight challenge - immensely pilgrim-friendly. Having dropped the rucksack it was then straight into town to find a farmacia for some aloe vera. Yep, the UV rays are a bit brutal when you are walking at 3000 feet.

Up by the church the restaurant Picota served food for me and every other pilgrim in town. Definitely more pilgrims starting to appear now.
