A gentle walk today across a flat landscape, ever heading north towards Santiago. With a difficulty rating of 1star on the Gronze website, today was not a physical challenge. There was just one town en route, Roales, a place with a bar and a great mural.
Montamarta is one of those town in the middle of nowhere where you wonder what the people do for a living. Accommodation was in a rented flat with impossible directions to find it - google maps was useless and it didn't help that the entrance to the flat was on the street behind the street which was the flat's address. The owner was helpful though and gave me a wonderful wifi code that was a mere 20 characters long.
There was one restaurant in town, Restaurant Rosamari, owned and run by the eponymous Rosamari. The food was excellent and there was another English pilgrim in there at dinner time. He had worked in financial markets so we had plenty to talk about, which was massively boring to anyone normal. The pictures of Montamarta show a lake but the waters had receded leaving a gorgeous view of the Hermitage of the Virgen del Castillo.
