So, after a day of blister-recovery in Santiago, it’s back to walking. Funny how walking lifts the spirits so dramatically, something I needed today after hearing of the death of a friend from cancer.

Arrived in a small town called Negreira for the night. The place I had booked was 1.5km off the Way. In England that would mean either a taxi or a 1.5km walk. Here it meant ringing the hotel owner. 5 minutes later, the hotel owner has picked me up in his Clio and taken me to the hotel. Then, because I didn’t want to eat at a restaurant, he runs me back to town and waits while some food is bought at a local supermarket. The guy’s name is Jesus – takes being like his namesake very seriously.
Walking really does lift one’s spirits.
